As a tutor, I reject the idea that a student is "bad at math." My teaching method starts with assessing the students' levels of comprehension and gradually guiding them to higher tiers of mastery. I have a calm demeanor that puts the students at ease, which, in turn, opens their minds to more challenging math problems. I'm in touch with the fun side of teens and pre-teens too. Before I graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Geology, I taught middle school students basic principles of engineering while I worked at LEGO. Once I finished school, I led teens on backpacking expeditions on the west coast. My specialty is math at all levels. I tutor Geometry, Elementary and Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, ACT and SAT Math prep, and Graduate Test Prep.At the moment, I am attending Johns Hopkins University as a nursing student. This coursework simply reinforces my desire to help others. I'm a new resident of Baltimore, so I have been exploring the city for new adventures. To stay in shape, I like to swim or do CrossFit. I also really like to run; I'm actually preparing for the Philadelphia Marathon. Once all of that activity is over with, I treasure spending quiet moments with my loved ones.
