Education

I graduated from Bates College, a tiny liberal arts school in Maine, in May of 2015. I was magna cum laude and earned honors in neuroscience. Before college, I went to an elite preparatory school in Georgia, where I was the female valedictorian with a 99.2/100 weighted GPA. I took numerous AP classes (US History, all basic sciences, BC Calculus, etc.) and earned a score of 5 on each. I plan to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology next year.

Experience

I have been tutoring for over eight years at various capacities. I have personal knowledge of mathematics, biology, writing, and neuroscience, and I also am quick to learn anything new and convey information. My SAT scores as a junior in high school were 700/710/730. My ACT score was a 35 (with a perfect 36 in math), and my recent GRE scores were all above the 97th percentile. I have taken a few education courses and learned to teach at various levels. I have a brother who is 12 years younger than me. He has severe ADHD, and I am used to working with him to get through assignments or to understand concepts. I enjoy tutoring because it is an engaging way to help people. I most enjoy thinking through things in new ways to help students connect the dots and learn to think for themselves.
