Experience
Most tutors will end up teaching a diverse set of subjects over the course of their careers, but not every tutor ends up experiencing that same diversity in regards to their students. The variety of abilities and personalities that I have encountered in my students, however, has been a boon to my tutoring. It has taught me to be flexible in my approach to education.I have worked with Spanish-speaking students of English, low-income students, special needs students, and with middle and high school students from the general population. The common thread among all these groups has been a desire to learn and a need to have their own learning styles recognized. The subjects I have tutored during these experiences have ranged from PSAT and SAT preparation and college applications to standard subjects, including Social Studies, Psychology, Biology, Geography, Literature, Chemistry, Math, Writing, and AP-level courses. My personal hobbies are just as varied as the students I've worked with. I enjoy things like traveling, cross-stitching, cooking, hiking, spending time with friends, and seeking out new experiences.
