I've taught at the High School level for two years during which I taught Biology and Special Education. As a Special Education teacher, I taught various content, including: Biology, English, U.S. History, Algebra, and Geometry. Also, I've worked with students with varying learning disabilities including but not limited to: Autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, & SLD. Before teaching, I was a tutor at Huntington Learning Center. There I worked 1-on-1 with students in SAT Prep and various math courses. I love working with children, particularly middle and high school students. I find joy in helping students "get it." It's a wonderful feeling watching the light bulb come on in an individual and teaching/tutoring allows me to experience that on a consistent basis.

Hobbies

I love writing, especially creative writing! I'm actually working on the first draft of my young adult fiction novel. I've also done a bit of journalistic writing for blogs/websites. Those pieces mainly focused on tennis or social justice. I watch a lot of TV shows but don't watch a lot of TV. So, there's a variety of shows I'm into, I just don't have time to watch them all. This leads to weekend binge watching every other month. Ha! I LOVE horror movies and I'm a tough critic. I haven't been scared by a horror movie since 2013's The Conjuring. Otherwise, I usually just laugh at scary movies. I have a sarcastic, dry sense of humor and I like to use it to make people feel better, even in the worst situations.
