My love of learning has always existed. I grew up in a family of educators. When I tutor, I strive to impart that love to my students. I attended Macalester College in the Midwest, earning a bachelor's degree in political science and government. I believe that a solid education can be an invaluable benefit to one's life. Tutoring can provide the missing encouragement or push needed to offer the optimal understanding of a subject. Students who struggle in school may simply need a different approach. I have tutored students from a broad range of backgrounds throughout my life. I am able to offer guidance in English, math, science, and social studies. All it takes to determine the best approach for a specific student is a discussion. I determine their academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as their learning style and goals, before putting together a unique lesson plan geared towards their needs. Whether a student needs to improve their college essays, review elementary math, or prepare for the ACTs, private tutoring is a solid way to ensure that they get what they need. I adore old movies and Netflix, fantasy novels, and traveling around the world. I am an avid runner, too.
