Experience
As a teacher, I believe in the importance of thinking about the individual student's needs and learning styles when planning lessons, developing teaching material and coming up with classroom strategies. I also believe that it's important for educators to come up with creative, outside-of-the-box teaching methods to help them adapt to new settings and be prepared for everything that arises in the classroom. One of the reasons why I'm able to do this so successfully is because I've had a wide range of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages, including at the college level. I've worked as a teacher, tutor, counselor, and youth leader. This experience has allowed me to learn how to teach in a traditional education as well as outside of the classroom, which is important for learning how to add creativity and hands-on activities to every lesson. One of my specialties is being able to connect with students, especially teenagers, and get to know their interests, strengths, and weaker points. With this information, I can then come up with a teaching style that works best for them. My favorite subjects to teach include history and social sciences, but I'm also comfortable helping students with English, writing, and standardized test prep.
