I graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major in Environmental Science and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. I earned my degree with high honors because I love learning and always strive to do my best when learning. My tutoring method rests on a combination of Socratic questioning and student involvement. Creating an investigative environment helps learners to build enthusiasm and curiosity for the subject. Once the enthusiasm is in place, every subject becomes easier to master. It's crucial to remember, however, that not everyone gets enthusiastic about the same things. Without getting to know the student and what their interests are, there is no way to build that much-needed enthusiasm.My tutoring specialties are Mandarin Chinese and Environmental Science, but I am able to teach in a variety of other areas and subjects as well. I also get excited about tutoring students in Grammar, Writing, English, History, Math, Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, and preparation for the PSAT and SAT. My downtime is spent cooking, gardening, knitting, reading, and practicing Olympic-style weightlifting.
