Experience

My background in teaching is a little eccentric. I have experienced teaching elementary, high school, college and university students, and I can say that I still can not draw a general formula in teaching a certain level because each class has its own flavor, attitude, and composition. I always try to get the feel of the class before I decide on the style and methods of teaching that I am going to use. I have also been a school paper adviser for three years, while I administered a small private school in our town. I eventually became the school principal for a time before I moved to teaching in the university. I have also experienced teaching TESOL to Russian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, Thai and Indonesian students. I got my TESOL certificate from the University of the Philippines. I have been taught by the greatest writers in my country (most of them have already passed away), but I am proud to say that I have learned well from my masters. I would be delighted to share not only my expertise in literature, the languages, and in writing, but also my passion in education which I hope my tutees will get from me.

Hobbies

My interests are extremely diverse. I am, first of all, a coffee lover. Secondly, I love writing. And needless to say, I also love reading. But I am not into novels. I'd rather read collections of short fiction and poems than novels. I think novels are better watched than read. But that's just me. I am also an avid traveler. I have explored the beautiful beaches of Thailand and the Philippines, the malls and casinos of Hong Kong and Macau, the industrial cities of Taiwan, the skyscrapers of Singapore, the bombed cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the major states of Malaysia, and the icy island of Sakhalin, Russia. I am also into financial management (I am a certified financial advisor in the Philippines). I trade and invest in the Philippine stock market. I am yet to learn how trading works in the NYSE, and I am pretty excited about it. And lastly, I am a Pokemon fan and I play Warcraft-DotA (Defense of the Ancients). If I am not reading or writing, or doing chores, I am probably playing Pokemon on my Nintendo DS or on STEAM playing DotA 2.
