Education
I graduated, Cum Laude, from Towson University with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. I enjoy learning and understanding how the brain works. I just finished taking a course on Gender and the Brain which gave me an even greater understanding of effective instruction. I have earned my masters equivalency and plan to return to complete a degree to become an ESOL teacher.
Experience
I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade for 9 years. I currently teach 4th grade Science, Social Studies, and Writing in Anne Arundel county. I tutored throughout college and high school. Before I taught at the elementary school level I worked tutoring children in Baltimore for AmeriCorps. One of my favorite experiences working with children is my opportunity to help the ESOL students at my school as part of a ESOL homework club. This is especially dear to my heart as a second generation Italian American. I truly understand how speaking a second language in the household impacts learning.
