Education

I was a Spanish major and English minor at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. I also hold an MA in International Affairs from The American University and MA in ESOL Ed (English as a Second Language) from University of Maryland Baltimore County. There I earned a 3.6 G.P.A. and have been an invited speaker for prospective students.

Experience

My tutoring began when I was living in Spain as a college student, where I worked for a tutoring company helping Spanish adults with their English. I am currently a public school teacher in Baltimore, where I teach English as a Second Language to kindergartners. I hold an MA in ESOL and have a K-12 teaching certification. I was a Spanish major in college, passed AP Spanish, and am fluent in the language, so I would enjoy tutoring students in Spanish coursework. Recently I taught English at the prestigious North American-Ecuadorean Center in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I truly enjoy working with children and adults to reach their full potential in education. It is rewarding to see that look of understanding and pride on the student's face!

Hobbies

I am the mother of a twenty year old college student and 17 year old high school junior. My interests include all outdoor activities, especially hiking, running and bird-watching; going to arts events such as museums and theater; traveling just about anywhere, and writing in my journal. I also spend time volunteering with social service and environmental organizations.
