Education

19 year old senior government professional Educationally speaking, my career has been very unique. In the "hobbies/interests" section, I explain further. I'm currently earning remedial credits by CLEP before transferring to a four year institution - please read on to see how my abstract approach works in my situation. Sometimes, the path less traveled by provides more opportunities than the path of least resistance. You may be surprised to read that I've never actually taken an SAT test, nor am I actually "enrolled" at a university. Currently, I'm earning credits by CLEP (a process that more students need to be award of). This allows me to undertake a flexible schedule for earning transferable credits while maintaining my bustling work schedule as a 19 year old professional.

Experience

Getting involved in politics as a volunteer from a young age, I worked from being a passionate activist to paid positions in the legislative arena barely before I was out of high school. My experience in government/politics ranges from internships and legislative aide positions on federal, state, and local levels of government as well as multiple positions as a political campaign director and consultant. In 2014, I was honored to be elected to political office in Baltimore city at the age of 18 -- representing voters of a certain political affiliation within our party's governing body. Most recently, I've undertaken the role as a Chief of Staff for a Maryland State Senator. This senior advisory position challenges me to become knowledgeable in a wide array of legislative and political issues, as well as manage a modest staff. Since most of my peers in the State Legislature are at least twice my age, I've enjoyed the challenges that come along with demonstrating exceptional proficiency in the workplace doesn't hinge simply on a level of education. Simply put, the career opportunities that have arisen in the short amount of years that I've been in the workforce have challenged me to take the path less traveled by for college -- the path of building a career and resume while pursuing college credits in whatever flexible time I have left. In a day and age where most job applicants fulfill the basic educational requirements, I believe I can provide a unique perspective on furthering one's academics while keeping up with a demanding career. I want to be able to help other young people be able to achieve success in their lives and careers so that they'll be better prepared for the demanding workforce that waits.

Hobbies

Although I spend most of my time working in my full-time position of Chief of Staff for a Maryland Senator, I balance that with considerable amounts of time spent earning college credits. In the remainder of any free time, I greatly enjoy spending time with my family, running, and of course, trying new foods and exploring new places!
