Experience

I am a student with extensive experience studying and teaching a variety of subjects. I graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature. I have helped create standardized tests, wrote test-prep curriculum, and helped students prepare for exams for more than eight years. Many of my former students have been accepted into top notch universities such as Claremont McKenna, Wellesley College, UCLA, Berkeley, Penn, and Yale. I also have a lot of experience teaching students with learning disabilities and teaching English as a Second Language. I am comfortable tutoring students in a wide range of areas, including Reading, Writing, Phonics, Math, English, Social Studies, American History, and Public Speaking. My emphasis as a tutor focuses on students' learning styles and strengths. Not every student excels in the same area, thus it is important for me to be able to reach my students at a level they are comfortable with. I also like to ensure that my lessons are enjoyable because students tend to succeed when they are actually interested in a subject. In my free time, I like to read, participate in yoga, and volunteer at a non-profit art organization. I also enjoy writing fiction and dancing.
