EducationJohns Hopkins University - BA, Writing Seminars
ExperienceI earned my bachelor's degree in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University, where I also completed work in literature, French, psychology, sociology, and history. I have served as a teacher in university summer programs and writer's workshops, and I have tutored students ranging from elementary schoolers to adult learners in a wide variety of subjects, including reading, writing, math, history, and religious studies. I am able to assist students in advanced courses like AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition. I also enjoy helping students prepare for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT. I am an enthusiastic educator, and believe in the importance of a strong foundation in reading and writing. I am passionate about the written word, and I am committed to helping each of my students discover their own love for English. I enjoy getting to know each student's individual learning style, academic goals, and any challenges they face with reading or writing. Taking the time to find out about my students assists me in planning their tutoring path, and I love tailoring my tutoring style to meet their needs. When I'm not tutoring or teaching, I like to listen to music, ride my bike, and take in a good theater performance.
