I graduated with cum laude honors from New York University where I majored in psychology and philosophy. At the moment, I plan to pursue a doctorate degree in clinical psychology. I was raised by two teachers who instilled in me a recognition of the worth of a good education and the value of passing it forward. I've been tutoring since high school and also tutored students during my college years. It was a good way to earn more to pay my college tuition. I am able to assist students in a variety of subject areas, but find it especially rewarding to tutor teens who are poised to attend college in the near future. I can personally relate to the pressure students experience when they are stressed and feeling isolated during the application process. I can help students craft their personal statements so that they are able to write about their goals and talents in a precise, accurate, and clear manner. I can also utilize my past experience to assist students in preparing to take standardized exams. I can offer lots of tips that will improve the academic skills they will be tested upon and help them understand and conquer the unique challenges they will face during testing. If you need assistance, I can provide patience tutoring and lots of motivating positive reinforcement. When I am not tutoring, my interests include writing poetry, song lyrics, and just about anything.
