Private tutor in Baltimore, MD

Education

I graduated from Wellesley College in 2013 with a B.A. in Biological Sciences. Although Biology was my major, I also enjoyed history and literature and took many classes in those areas. I have a deep understanding and appreciation of both humanities and sciences. I have taken classes ranging from comparative anatomy and organic chemistry to renaissance history and German.

Experience

I am a recent graduate from Wellesley College with a passion for science and education. I currently work as a tutor at C2 Education tutoring students in a 3-on-1 in SAT verbal. I clearly understand the difficulties that come with mastering the SAT verbal section. As a high schooler, I struggled with the section until I met a tutor who helped me grasp my full potential. My tutor helped me to raise my stagnant 580 SAT Verbal score to a 780! I desire to bring that same success to every student I encounter. I believe that success is determined by hard work and dedication. I have also taken high level courses in Biology and Chemistry during my undergraduate years with a particular interest in anatomy and immunology. I have been able to expand my knowledge of the sciences while working as a Research Assistant in a Cardiac Surgery lab at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I am excited to tutor students to see them reach their full potential. I understand that high school can be a harrowing time and I hope to help bring clarity and focus.

Hobbies

I am very interested in healthcare and have volunteered abroad in Timor-Leste, China, and Myanmar. In the future, I hope to enter into the field of public health in an effort to make healthcare more widely available to disadvantaged members of communities here in the US and abroad. I am passionate about traveling and exploring new cultures. I am also an avid reader and lover of all things Jane Austen. I also enjoy a good cup of tea.
