During my years as an undergraduate and graduate student at different institutions, my exposure to a variety of tutoring experiences has nurtured an appreciation towards the significance of individually tailored tutoring methods. I favor the empowering approach and put an emphasis on this in my tutoring sessions. I tutor students in the subject of language, specifically English and Latin. When it comes to language, information alone is not enough. I also provide test prep for the SAT.In my experience, students get more out of the material depending on the approach taken and the provision of tools used to build upon their study skills. I look for ways to tutor the subject from all angles or focus in on what's causing a disconnection until a connection is made. I believe that it is a tutor's job to guide their student through the subject towards full comprehension and ease. Because of my love for English and Latin studies, exchanging these gifts with my students would be a great pleasure.Outside of tutoring, I like to ski, read, travel, and watch classic movies.
