Experience

As a partially retired teacher of twenty years, I am an excellent choice for a tutor. I have taught all grade levels over the course of my career, including adult learners at learning centers who needed help learning English as their second language. I currently conduct employee literacy training for a local housing authority. Since I have retired, I have increased the number of students that I can personally tutor.I take pride in being able to help a student discover the details of the problem that they are facing and then finding a good way for them to solve it. My success rate is rather high as I have stopped a lot of students from being held back a grade or from missing their high school graduation. As a writer I have a lot of knowledge in reading and writing and I try to do my best to make sure that my tutoring students are able to learn from everything that I know and all of the skills that I have.During my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, dancing, drawing, swimming, hiking, and listening to music. I also enjoy traveling, as I have visited Cuba, Africa, and the West Indies several times.
