I have been a kindergarten teacher in Baltimore City for six years. During the summer, as well as throughout the school year, I enjoy tutoring multiple subjects for all ages groups! I love math and, as a result of my years spent studying and teaching childhood education, I am very familiar with the foundations of math and how understanding of basic concepts is essential to success in all math. I have tutored for many subjects including early reading (phonics and phonemic awareness), reading, elementary math, middle school math, algebra, and SAT math for students of all ages. I have worked with students with multiple ability levels and challenges including ADD, ADHD, intellectual disability, and learning disabilities (such as dyslexia). I love working with students on an individual or small group level. It's so great to see someone suddenly understand something he or she didn't think she would be able to do! It's also so interesting to me to see how different students learn and gather and teach strategies that will work for that individual. Hobbies
As a teacher, I spend a lot of time planning and researching for my classroom. In my spare time, I love to read, especially YA fiction. I like to be outside and go for walks with my dogs. I am learning to cook and really love to bake - breads and cookies are my favorite!
