Experience
*I have 8 years of tutoring experience. *I most recently worked as a Teaching Assistant (TA) at the Virginia Tech Statistics Department while attending graduate school for a Masters in Statistics. As a TA, I had office hours a few times a week set aside for tutoring undergraduate students. As a Teaching Assistant, I tutored individual and small groups of undergraduate students in statistics, graded homework for undergraduate statistical courses, and consulted with non-statistician researchers on various projects. *In order to obtain my secondary teaching license in mathematics I student taught at a middle school. During this time I planned lessons, taught the class as a whole, graded papers, designed assignments/tests/practice questions, and tutored individual and small groups of students. *Also in order to obtain my teaching license I interned at a middle school which required me to tutor small groups and individual students in mathematics (basic math, algebra, geometry). *I have experience tutoring in the Math/Statistics Lab at Virginia Western Community College. I worked for the school and offered tutoring (free to the students) in algebra, calculus, statistics, geometry, and any other math/statistics subjects the students needed. *I have also provided private tutoring since I was in high school to students of all ages preparing for tests (SAT/AP/GRE/etc) or coursework. *I have taken every high level mathematics course required for a Bachelors in Mathematics. I have completed all the required courses for a Masters in Statistics and only need two elective courses in order to complete a Masters in Statistics.
