Experience

I have loved school from a young age. My favorite subject was always math because I viewed it like a puzzle, there is a correct answer to be solved, and this was always enjoyable for me. I found science interesting and I enjoy writing- both creatively and analytically- very much. In public school I was in the GATE program before transferring to a middle school for gifted children (The Nueva School in Hillsburough, CA) where I learned through an alternative, creative method of teaching. This method built on a child's own curiosity. I have also learned in very traditional settings through a college preparatory high school (10% of my graduating class went to Stanford, 40% went to top 10 Universities & Colleges) and Johns Hopkins University. After spending time with your child to understand which learning style would suit him or her best, I would be happy to tutor them in the most effective way possible so that they can excel in the classroom and subsequently feel more confident generally.
