Because I want to give all of my students the best experience possible, I will meet for a FREE initial consultation before committing to a tutoring plan. That being said, here's what I have to offer: I am passionate about education, learning, and sharing my sense of wonder for science and knowledge with others. Throughout my experiences educating both myself and others, I've found that the key to learning new concepts is having a sound understanding of the foundation principles. Armed with that foundation of knowledge, new concepts become a logical extension of current knowledge rather than some isolated concept to memorize. Not only does this approach make for a more successful student, it also allows the mind to think more creatively and makes learning fun! My approach relies heavily on the Socratic-method to ensure confidence and equipping students with the critical thinking skills necessary to methodically approach complex problems. My experiences include the following: - MCAT expert with total score of 39Q (99th (14 PS, 11 VR, 14 BS) (>95th percentile in each section, 99th percentile overall) - 7+ years of teaching and tutoring experience with MCAT, DAT, OAT, and PCAT preparation, preparing over 300 students. - Designed and taught GRE prep course for University of Rochester Medical Center Summer Scholars program - Graduate education included coursework in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, and Genetics - Research assistant and Co-author of 5 peer-reviewed publications on kidney and bone physiology in highly regarded scientific journals -Experience with several AP exams during high school, including AP Biology, Chemistry, American History, European History, and World History
