I want to tutor because I have a passion for educating others. In educating I get to communicate God's personal love to those whom I teach, and this either explicitly through instructional material, or, at least, in manor of teaching. ____________________________ I also value excellence and performance. As a tutor I will help you become proficient, comfortable and confident in the material you want to improve in, or discover for the first time. ____________________________ Areas I am competent to teach: Philosophy: Ancient Greek, Medieval, Modern and Contemporary, Ethics, Human Nature, Aquinas, Aristotle, and Metaphysics Theology: Ethics, Aquinas, Patristics, Introduction to Christianity, Church History As one who knows three other languages, I can teach study skills (and those languages) as well. German: I have a middle proficiency, and so can speak, read and write. When I was in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, some thought I was a native German--I have worked to eradicate my American accent and have a soft Bavarian one. Latin: I am currently producing a critical edition of some Medieval manuscripts. Hobbies

I am currently a graduate student at Loyola Maryland, and will graduate in May 2015 with a Masters of Theological Studies. I grew up on a farm in PA and enjoy the outdoors, I was a even ski instructor for several years and have two nationally recognized certifications for teaching both telemark and alpine skiing. I am working to become a professor of Theology. ____________________________ As an instructor I am patient, adaptive and shall challenge my students for their benefit.
