Private tutor in Baltimore, MD
Education
B.S. in Microbiology (from University of Oklahoma), M.S. in Biological Sciences, with focus in Neurobiology (in May, 2014 from UMBC).
Experience
As a graduate student, I have TA'd numerous science courses, including cell biology. I have helped students to write and comprehend scientific and non-scientific literature. As an undergraduate, I tutored my fellow classmates, as teaching can be a learning tool as well. I spent my Friday's tutoring K-12 students in all subjects, from STEM to writing and offer essay guidance as well. I scored very highly on my SAT, ACT, GRE and MCAT. I am classically trained on the piano and have given lessons previously to both adults and children alike. I love to pass on what I know in a friendly, humorous environment. I realize that sometimes, classic lectures or classroom environments do not get the material across like humor and critical analysis can. I can tutor college level sciences all the way down to elementary level reading, writing, math and science. I pride myself in making my lessons/homework sessions enjoyable and fun. Learning should never, EVER be a chore. :D

Hobbies
I love music, reading and writing. Science is my passion, and has been that way since I was a little girl. My Christmas gifts were always science kits or lab notebooks. I have a special interest in medicine, as I am currently a medical school applicant. I spend many hours in the hospital volunteering.
