Hobbies

I am a young teacher, a corps member of Teach For America, and pursuing my Masters Degree in Urban Education. I studied journalism at Northwestern University and worked as a professional journalist during summers while pursuing my Bachelors Degree. I left journalism and became a teacher because I love working with kids and helping students discover a passion for reading and writing. The students I work with at my school are (on average) two years behind reading grade level, so our reading improvement goals are ambitious. However, I am prepared and qualified to work with elementary and secondary students at all levels. My teaching certification is in Secondary English (6th-12th grades).
