Experience
I'm a Johns Hopkins University student pursuing a medical degree. Prior to medical school, I attended the University of Maryland, where I earned degrees in math and biochemistry. I tutored on campus as a college student, assisting students in general and advanced math concepts, including calculus three and linear algebra. I also served as a TA for two years in an organic chemistry course, and also one semester for a genetics course. As a tutor, I like to focus on the student and set goals. I also like to figure out the student's needs and learning style so that I can create a learning environment that is comfortable and effective. I encourage students by celebrating every small victory they make. I encourage students to look at mistakes is opportunities to isolate needs and fix them. I like tutoring math because I enjoy the subject, but also because I like to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and it's great to see a student get excited because they figured out a problem by themselves. In my free time, I like to watch college basketball, play volleyball, watch movies, read, travel, eat good food, and socialize.
