Experience

I have earned my master's degree in Education, and am a certified elementary school teacher, which is what I have been doing for a number of years now. I have a great deal of experience tutoring, specifically in reading, math, comprehension, and phonics at the elementary school level. I am also able to help children who are preparing for standardized exams, such as the ISEE, SSAT, and others. I gain a great deal of satisfaction from teaching in my classroom, and from one-on-one tutoring. Whatever the subject is, I also present students of mine with study skills such as organization and time management, which will continue to help them throughout their lives. Each student has a learning style that is particular to them, and I find it a rewarding challenge to discover this so I am able to teach them in the most effective way for them individually. Outside of teaching, I am a very active person, and enjoy playing numerous sports, as well as cooking, shopping, and baking.

Hobbies

I am an extremely active individual and very involved in sports and extra curricular activities. I was a Divison 1 college athlete at Virginia where I played lacrosse for 5 years. I understand the importance of time management when being a successful student. I also am really involved in group fitness classes at my gym. I love spending time at the beach, spending time outside, and playing in adult sports leagues during the week with my friends. I also love shopping, cooking, baking, and exercising.
