Experience
I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in elementary education and a focus on math. During this time, I have helped tutor a number of students in elementary math, writing, and reading comprehension, as well as help young pupils prepare for various placement tests. Of all the subjects I've taught, the field I love tutoring the most is mathematics. There's something great about helping people understand the basics of math so that they can go on to learn the more complicated concepts in higher levels. Additionally, I believe that math plays an important role on our lives, and by helping people develop the skills needed to work comfortably with numbers, I'm able to leave a positive impact on my students' future. I've been tutoring for about 12 years now, where I have come up with programs to help children of all ages improve their overall academic skills and prepare them for success inside the classroom and out in the real world. As a teacher, I believe that it's important to encourage and motivate students, as well as build their self-esteem so that they understand that they're capable of doing great things. When I'm not teaching, I like to travel abroad, sing, and cook.
