Experience
During the course of graduate school, I taught college courses for six years and did private tutoring for four years. I absolutely loved teaching but have not had the opportunity to do so since finishing my degree and taking a job as a full time research historian. I spend my days researching, writing, and publishing articles to a global audience; writing, preparing, and publishing books; writing and hosting a podcast with a monthly audience of 30,000; and maintaining archives of historical materials. All of these tasks are thrills and pleasures, but more teaching in my life would complete the tapestry nicely. Any students who would hire me would find their time occupied with someone desperate to help them learn more, better, and someone who could help them translate that knowledge into meaningful change in their own lives.
